Tokina SD 11-16mm F2.8 (IF) DX II | Testshots and review so far

By now I´ve had the chance to go out a few times to test my new wide-angle lens, the Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2,8 Pro DX II (Nikon). Not too cheap, but to achieve high image quality that is the way to go. One thing that is definitely something I had to get used to is the switch from the Auto focus (AF) to the Manuel Focus (MF). To do this we have to pull the focus ring back a little bit. I have to say I like it, as it´s easy and fast. But unlike the rest of the lens, this mechanism doesn´t appear to be manufactured in the highest quality.

The images it produces together with my Nikon D7100 are great, and the new perspectives are really a gain to my photography. The only thing I noticed so far is, that the Tokina produces a lot of flares. If you have a light source coming from the front, or even from the side in some cases, you will get flares. I still have to try out some night photography with it, as some have even reported to get flares from the shining moon.. Otherwise this lens produces very sharp photos and the range is awesome. The CA´s aren´t notable or if are easily corrected in Lightroom. Regardless the flares, I´ll most probably keep the Tokina and I am looking forward to more shots! So now, that you´ve seen some photos, what do you guys think? I have to say I am keen on taking maaany more photos with this lens and get into some night photography quite soon.
