Animals of Australia - a little Film Expedition in Queensland
This year I´ve been twice to Australia - six weeks earlier this year and just three weeks ago I spent another two weeks there. Gülsah is currently doing her masters there - well, she´s almost done with it to be precise and has done some incredible work. Check out this article by WWF Australia to find out more about her project trying to investigate mass strandings of turtles close to Townsville in 2012. I hope I´ll be able to motivate her and get her to write a little article on her thesis.

On my first trip in Ozzy we did travel a bit around in Queensland and I shot a lot of video with my camera, to get more hands-on training with DLSR videos and capture the stunning and extremely abundant wildlife in Australia. Hammerhead research on Fiji

Just a week ago I arrived in Fiji and I am currently living in Suva, the capital of Fiji. At the moment I am trained in the methodology needed to assess the situation of hammerhead sharks in other rivers than the Rewa river. We think that some of the rivers here on Viti levu might serve as nursery areas for hammerhead sharks - that would be important data that could be very helpful in the conservation and protection of this species. Stay tuned for a report in the next couple of days - until then have a look at my crowdfunding campaign, where still a few Euros need to be collected! We are at 91%!
